Keeping tabs on your performance and general well-being has never been easier since the inception of the smartwatch. A peek at your wrist can keep you connected with more than just your step count and heart rate.
While the wellness industry thrives with products focused on improving people’s health, fitness and wellness, what the latest Amazfit fitness smartwatches, the GTR 4 and GTS 4, offer, is not just an assessment of one’s physical well-being but a guide to a new lifestyle.
As a leading global brand of ‘wearables’, Amazfit has been dedicated to providing a smoother and more comfortable user experience since day one. The brand is known for developing products that combine style, personality and comprehensive functionality. So, what makes the latest generation so attractive, apart from the brand’s already competitive health management system?
Simply put, the latest generation of smartwatches now features the most ever circularly polarized dual-band GPS antenna technology in the industry. For all the adventurous, this means that the Amazfit GTR 4 & GTS 4 is now able to boast GPS tracking of up to 99% as accurate as handheld locators in outdoor scenarios.
Basically, while the majority of smartwatches equipped with linear polarized antennas only pick up about 50% of satellite signals, the circularly polarized antenna is close to 100%. This accuracy is especially useful when running/hiking in places where signals may be output from trees or tall buildings.
No doubt you’ll be familiar with the sport modes, the GTR 4 and GTS 4 have 150 built-in already, but have you heard of your training being automatically tracked? The watches automatically recognize up to 25 types of strength exercises and calculate your steps, sets and rest time.
Aside from being able to sync with apps like Strava, it looks like Amazfit has partnered with adidas Runtastic. So you can sync your Amazfit GTR 4 or GTS 4 workout data to the adidas Running app after the upcoming Zepp app update, shortly.
Maybe we should pinpoint the actual differences between the GTR4 and the GTS4. It’s all a matter of personal taste.
The GTR 4 is slightly bulkier and more “sports car,” while the GTS 4 feels more fashion-conscious and understated. Apart from that, they both boast the same “under the hood” technology.
More accuracy, between you and us that’s what makes it worth the investment anyway. Enter the BioTracker™ 4.0 PPG – a biometric tracking optical sensor that captures 33% more data than its predecessor BioTracker™ 3.0 looks good so far.
Combined with the upgraded hourly heart rate tracking algorithm, it greatly reduces any potential signal interference that might be caused by arm movement. We are told that heart rate tracking is almost as high as the heart rate belts.
As if all of this wasn’t smart enough for you, the GTR 4 and GTS 4 can also store up to 2.3GB of music on the watch for standalone playback, or connect to your mobile phone via Bluetooth to control your phone’s music. *
With a built-in microphone and speaker, users can take and answer phone calls regardless of setting the watch to read real-time sports mode data through the speakerphone.
If you’re wondering if all of this is going to be a serious battery drain, the GTR 4 can last up to 14 days with normal use (using a 475mAh battery). Whereas the GTS 4 can last up to 8 days with typical use (with a marginally smaller 300mAh battery).
In addition to the ability to display QR codes, barcodes, and membership cards, these fourth-generation smartwatches have Amazon Alexa built in, and can be interacted with via a microphone and speaker. There is also a downloadable watch face with Alexa widget on the home screen, for quick access!
The Amazfit GTR 4 and GTS 4 are now priced from $199.99 / £199 / €199.99, and sales for this new range are now available. Take a look and see which one suits you best (Opens in a new tab).
