The House of the Dragon series Game of Thrones draws inspiration from George R. R. Martin’s Fire & Blood novel about the history of House Targaryen. It’s currently charting huge numbers for HBO Max, so it looks like those who were obsessed with the original series but were frustrated with the way it concluded are letting go. According to HBO’s official House of the Dragon synopsis, “The prequel series finds the Targaryen dynasty at the peak of its absolute power, with over 15 dragons under its yoke. Most empires—real and imagined—fall apart from these heights. In this case of the Targaryens, their slow downfall has begun. Some 193 years before the events of Game of Thrones, when King Viserys Targaryen breaks a century of tradition by naming his daughter Rhaenyra heir to the Iron Throne.But when Viserys later becomes a son, the court is shocked when Rhaenyra retains her position as his successor, and the seeds of division sow friction in all around the world “.
The stars of House of the Dragon are Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma Darcy, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Fabian Frankl, Sonoya Mizuno, Rhys Evans. The cast also includes Millie Alcock, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Emily Carey, Harry Collette, Ryan Core, Tom Glenn Carney, Jefferson Hall, David Horowitz, Will Johnson, John Macmillan, Graham McTavich, Ewan Mitchell, Theo Nate, Matthew Needham , Bill Patterson, Via Saban, Gavin Spocks, and Savannah Stein.
