Rockstar Games is turning off social media comments

distance GTA 6 Leaks, Rockstar Games have taken some precautions on social media. Last weekend, an unknown hacker claimed responsibility for hacking Rockstar Games Networks and leaked 90 gameplay videos Grand Theft Auto VI. The leak was massive as Rockstar only briefly admitted that it was working on a new Grand Theft Auto, but didn’t reveal any other details about it. The leak revealed the game’s protagonists, setting, new gameplay features, quests, and much more. It was a devastating leak and prompted Rockstar Games to respond and reassure fans that it is not expected to have any long-term impact on the game’s development. The hacker has also claimed responsibility for a recent security breach of Uber and the FBI is now investigating.

Today, Rockstar Games released their regular weekly update of GTA Online With many bonuses, discounts, add-ons and other small changes, only this time, there was a slight difference. Rockstar Games has discontinued comments on its posts about this new update on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. A number of Rockstar Games employees have also shut down their social media accounts, ensuring that no one can view their profile unless they already follow them. This appears to be caused by people spamming relevant videos, images, and other comments within posts by both the appropriate Rockstar Games and its employees. While the employees are free to do as they please, it is unclear how long Rockstar will close its social media account.

Perhaps this will continue until the game is properly revealed and fans will be able to focus on that rather than the incomplete footage. However, we have no idea when Rockstar plans to release any gameplay footage. It could take weeks, months, or even next year as there is no real timeline for this title at the moment. Either way, the developer seems to be doing everything possible to try to stay away from leaks.

What do you think about the way Rockstar Games is handling the situation? Let me know in the comments or hit me up TwitterCade_Onder.
