The new Eisner movie Kids vs aliens It premieres tonight at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas.
“It’s not something I can fully answer just yet, but it isn’t… We are definitely thinking of more The dark side of the ring“Eisner confirmed with ComicBook.com when discussing the future of the series.” It’s definitely something we hope will be in the cards in the future. But for now, we are preparing for it Tales from the provinces To get out…but yeah, there’s going to be a lot of wrestling documentaries coming out of me.”
The director went on to explain how wrestling was foundational in his development as a storyteller and his ambitions to bring together a variety of genres for his projects.
“Wrestling is obviously a big part of my childhood. It led to my passion that I brought to him The dark side of the ring And the Tales from the provincesEisner explained. But when I was a kid, it was a gateway to me…I wanted to pretend to be like wrestlers. I was watching them on TV. I was pretending to be Jake “The Snake” Roberts and The Undertaker. It was my first time, with my cousins and friends, the first time I’ve played a character, coming up with action stories. Even when I was playing with my wrestling characters, they were up against Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Transformers. I was taking the universes from all these games that I loved, merging them together, creating my own world and my own stories.”
He continued, “This is what is happening Children vs aliens. It’s as if kids would combine wrestling with action movies and dinosaurs, all those things I loved as a kid, but I would have combined them all together into what would become my thing. In some ways, that’s the movie, too.”
Kids vs aliens It was described, “All Gary wants is making great home movies with his best friends. All his older sister Samantha wants is to hang out with the adorable kids. And when their parents leave town for Halloween weekend, all she wants is a teen house party turns into Horror when aliens attack, forcing siblings to band together to survive the night.”
