Modern Warfare 2 SBMM is “horrific”

Call of Duty is back with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer is currently in beta which means a related topic is back in discussion as well: skill-based matchmaking. Often abbreviated to SBMM and often complained about, the matchmaking system used by many competitive games attempts to group players together based on skill levels. Live streamers and more casual gamers alike have already started strongly against this SBMM once again with Dr Disrespect describing the implementation as “appalling” and others echoing similar sentiments.

A streamer who used to work on Call of Duty himself as developer Sledgehammer Games was streaming modern war 2 It was recently turned off and on as gamers flocked to the beta version. During one of those streams where he played with FaZe Doozy and TimTheTatman, he praised parts of the game but criticized SBMM.

I think the game looks really good,” said Dr Disrespect. It looks good. I like the direction they go with some of these gun accessories and the way they handle the guns. I can’t really talk to him war zone 2 But for the most part, the map design is great. But man, this SBMM, it’s horrible.”

Dr Disrespect wasn’t the only one to speak out against SBMM this week. Other banners Like CouRageJD Comment on the frequency of people complaining about “how much their games sweat because of SBMM.” Pro Call of Duty Player Octane shared a clip which showed that people were actually intentionally underperforming in a match in order to trick the SBMM team into putting them in easier lobbies.

The most common suggestion to solve this problem was to get a non-SBMM playlist for a more casual experience with a classifier mode that features the skill-based system instead. Reworking the sentiment shared with SBMM, streamers and more casual players have complained that the system makes every single match feel like a very competitive experience even at times when people just want to relax and play some easy matches. Those in favor of SBMM say that streamers just want to be able to stomp every game and that more casual players should do better, so we come back to every SBMM argument that comes up when a new multiplayer game is released.

modern war 2 Quite a lot is in beta, but those conversations probably won’t go away anytime soon, so gamers (and maybe Modern Warfare 2’s the creators) to continue talking about SBMM more in the future.
