The first pictures of Queen Elizabeth’s final resting place have been revealed

Buckingham Palace has released the first picture of Queen Elizabeth II’s burial site alongside Prince Philip.

The royal family wrote from its verified account on Twitter: “A large stone has been installed in the King George VI Memorial Chapel after the burial of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth.”

Page Six stated that the post was accompanied by a picture of the king’s tomb surrounded by floral arrangements.

After Queen Elizabeth II’s state funeral on September 19, she was interred with the body of her late husband Philip, who was moved to join her.

The King George VI Memorial Chapel is part of St. George’s Chapel, the site of several royal burials.

Historic rule that lasted 70 years

Elizabeth died on September 8 at the age of 96 at Balmoral Castle, Scotland, after 70 years of historic rule.

Thereafter, King Charles III, her eldest son, assumed the British throne with his wife Camilla, who now serves as Queen Consort.

Hours after announcing the death of his beloved mother, Charles, 73, mourned her death in an emotional statement.

A statement posted on the royal family’s accounts on social media said: “The death of my beloved mother, Her Majesty the Queen, is a moment of great sadness for me and all of my family.”
