The iPhone 14 Pro is still pretty new, so we won’t be surprised if you don’t know how to make the iPhone 14 Pro always-on display black and white.
Apple finally added an always-on display to its Pro iPhones this year, but instead of the traditional Android-style screen that’s just a regular watch or other black-and-white gadgets, the iPhone shows you a dull, desaturated version of your lock screen. Definitely a nicer solution. But also a distraction in comparison. So what if you want something a little intrusive?
You can always turn off AOD, but there is actually an alternative method, using focus modes, which gives you a more accurate rendering, displaying only your chosen UI elements in black and white. We can show you by following the steps below.
How to make iPhone 14 Pro always-on display black and white
1. Open the Settings appand then Press to focus.
2. over here, Select focus mode You want to enable AOD in black and white. Use the existing focus modeor Create a new one. Read our How to Use Focus in iOS guide if you need more help here.
3. With the focus mode of your choice selected, Determine Optionsjust below the allowed people and apps.
4. Currently Toggle the lock screen opacity on.
5. Now, with focus mode enabled, Lock your iPhone 14 Pro. Instead of the full lock screen appearing on the AOD, your chosen clock and widgets will appear white on a black background. And that’s it!
While this feature is a surprisingly effective workaround, the limitation is that you have to stay in focus at all times. You may want to Set up a new default focus that changes nothing about your phone’s behavior other than dimming the lock screen.
Also, dimming the lock screen means that even if you wake the phone from its AOD mode, the lock screen background will remain blurred. It’s an annoying price to pay, but if you want an abstract background anyway, you probably won’t mind too much.
