Husband stabbed 89 times: Houston widow Janet Alexander suffered for decades before spouse killing, her son says!

Houston, Texas (KTRK) – son of a woman found not guilty For her husband’s murder last week, a message to victims of domestic violence.

Janet Alexander, 72, was acquitted of murder in the death of her husband, Lionel Alexander. She claimed self-defense after suffering decades of abuse. Her son, Marilyn Alexander, testified on her behalf.

“I remember growing up as a kid, watching him put guns to her head, threatening to kill her if she didn’t do certain things. He wanted her to do everything, and everything was in control,” Marilyn Alexander told ABC13. “It looked like it was the norm.”

In April 2018, Marilyn said that his mother had to choose. His mother told the police that she took a knife from her husband and stabbed him to death. The autopsy found a staggering 89 stab wounds.

“My mom is the sweetest human being and she did what she had to do to protect herself,” he said. “She had no choice. It was either him or her.”

The stabbing wasn’t the first time the woman had tried to resist. After Monday Night Football, Eyewitness News has more with the widow’s son and an accident that put her behind bars before she is tried for murder.
