Pokemon Go reveals plans for October content and shiny new Pokemon

October is just around the corner, and Pokemon Go Players can expect to see a lot of new content throughout the month. Developer Niantic revealed some details about those plans, including the Shiny Pokemon that debuted in it Pokemon Go. With special research hacks next month, players will get the chance to take on Shedinja, and for the first time, it could be a glossy version. The company has also provided dates for the month’s biggest events, although we won’t have specific details until we get close to the actual dates. Players can expect the following events in October:

  • Evolving Stars Event (October 5-11)
  • Mega Gyarados Raid Day (8 October)
  • Festival of Lights (October 14-17)
  • Community Day in October (October 15)
  • Halloween Event (October 20 – 31)
  • Safari Zone: Taipei (October 21-23)

Starting today, players can expect to see Yveltal in five-star raids, while Mega Lopunny will appear in Mega Raids. On October 8 Xerneas, the other major legendary of Pokemon X and Y., will return to Five Star Raids, while Mega Manectric will appear in Mega Raids. Mega Banette will start appearing on Mega Raids starting October 20th and running until November 8th. In five-star raids, players can expect the Altered Form of Giratina on October 20, before the game moves to Pokemon’s Origin Forme from October 27 through November 8. This month’s raid hours will focus on Yveltal (October 5), Xerneas (October 12 and 19), and Giratina’s Altered Form (October 26). Players can also expect the following Spotlight hours:

  • October 4th: Purrloin- 2x XP to develop Pokemon
  • Oct 11: Haunter- 2x Stardust to hunt Pokemon
  • Oct 18: Misdreavus- 2x XP to catch Pokemon
  • October 25: Shuppet- 2x XP to develop Pokemon

Niantic’s press release notes that players who bring friend’s Pokémon to the Shuppet Spotlight Hour “will experience something special at the beginning and end,” although no additional details are provided. With all these festivities and the current fashion week theme of the game, it seems Pokemon Go Players will have plenty to keep busy!
