Megan Thee Stallion launches new website highlighting mental health resources!

Houston, Texas (KTRK) – Megan Thee Stallion of Houston is raising awareness about access to mental health resources.

The Grammy-winning rapper has launched a website with information on how to get help.

Its website is entitled**** The bad ones have very bad daysIt sends a message that it’s good to have days when you’re struggling and not feeling your best.

“I think it’s really good for artists, especially from the city, to be a part of things related to the community,” said Courtney Miller, a licensed professional counselor.

Since 2019, I have noted the need to connect black youth with help.

“I especially think it’s important just because the black community needs things like this,” Miller said.

According to the National Institute of Mental Health, approximately one in five adults has a mental illness, which is about 53 million people.

In 2020, the institute said more than half of the people who received help for their mental health were white.

Just over a third were Hispanic, 37% were black, and about 21% were Asian.

Miller thinks Meghan’s website will make a difference.

“I think her music reaches everyone, but I think it’s really important for our younger generations to be more receptive and accessible to therapy,” she said.

This is one of the reasons why she became a therapist.

“I think a lot of people don’t know where to look for it or that you’re looking for someone who looks like you, and that’s one of the reasons I went for it,” Miller said.

On the websiteMegan Thee Stallion has many helpline phone numbers and several therapists to choose from.

That could really make a difference, Miller said.

“We need people and places of influence to influence really positive things,” she said.
