Shawn Michaels provides an update on WWE NXT’s hiring philosophy, the new booking trend

WWE’s NXT brand has officially dropped the 2.0 logo, causing many fans to speculate about whether the brand will return to its “black and yellow” days in the late 2000s. When the brand got a minor reboot in September 2021, its presentation was significantly altered and more emphasis was placed on behind-the-scenes skits and local talent trained at the WWE Performance Center rather than superstars who had established themselves in other companies or on the independent scene.

said Shawn Michaels, who oversaw the NXT reservation for last year My San Antonio In a recent interview, the recruitment of indie stars hasn’t stopped – “We’re still reaching out to other experienced people who have wrestled on the indie scene or come out in Japan or other companies. And that’s something NXT will continue to do in the future. Nothing is off the table.” We simply want to keep finding people who have the same passion for a WWE product as us.”

He also indicated that the booking process would change now that Triple H oversees all of WWE’s Creative following Vince McMahon’s sudden departure in July. This will be great news for fans who criticized the NXT product during its 2.0 phase.

“I’ll say Hunter trusts me a lot and has a great deal of freedom to do what I think is the best thing for NXT and our talent here. But, I can’t speak for Vince or any of the other people. They’ve all been so good to me over the years, and I’ve always tried to give them every I can. So, this won’t change,” Michaels explained. “But, Hunter and I’s thought process is definitely more in line, so I don’t find myself having to ask him a lot of questions or if this or that is a good fit for him to do, or what do you think about this? It gave me a great deal of freedom here, which I appreciate.” But the good thing is we’re best friends, and we’ll talk all the time. But, nine times out of 10 we talk on the same page so I think that makes it easier for everyone involved and it’s definitely a more streamlined process. I think everyone encourages them and there’s a great deal of excitement from Talent point of view, too.”
