Coolio fans pay tribute to the famous rapper after death

On Wednesday, the entertainment world was heartbroken to learn that rapper-turned-actor Coolio, best known for his Grammy-winning single “Gangsta’s Paradise,” has unexpectedly passed away at the age of 59. Soon after the news of Collio’s death was confirmed, fans began taking to social media to honor the artist, not only for his indelible mark in music, but also for his work in television and cinema.

As a musician, Coolio’s career started in the late 80’s, but he achieved great success with 1995 Gangster’s paradisethe title track produced as a single for the film dangerous minds. That song became one of the most successful rap songs ever and won a Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance, and for many fans, that song was a key part of what would make Coolio so memorable.

“RIP to Coolio, 59 is still very young,” passthatversacy wrote on Twitter. “Gangsta Paradise is one of the most popular hip-hop songs of all time and one of the hits. Nobody will forget it.”

Other fans pointed to another popular song by Coolio, 1994’s “A Wonderful Journey”, in their honor.

Fans also remembered Coolio’s acting career when they praised her. Coolio has appeared in quite a few horror movies during his career, including Leprechaun in the capAnd the monasteryAnd the Dracula 3000as well as the original reckless Feature Film and batman and robin He played Jonathan Crane and was set to go on to play the villain Scarecrow in a follow-up movie before it was canceled by the studio. Fans have honored his work making music for projects as well, especially the theme song for the Nickelodeon sitcom Kinan Wakeel.
