Instagram Bans Pornhub Account Due To Repeat Violations

META permanently removed PornhubInstagram account of “repeated violation of our policies”, three weeks after deactivating the official account of porn sites.

Pornhub responded by posting an open letter on Twitter addressed to four Meta CEOs, including the CEO Mark Zuckerberg The Instagram head Adam Mosseriarguing that the platform’s policies are “vague, discriminatory and hypocritical.”

The letter specifically cites Kim Kardashian’s Instagram post showing her buttocks, which is still on the platform.

The site also claims that deleting their accounts “severely hurts” freelance creators who use Instagram as a “vital marketing tool”. Pornhub’s account, which had more than 13 million followers, was deactivated on September 2.

Instagram arguments

In a screenshot shared with the New York Post, Instagram sent a message to Pornhub that read: “Your account has been disabled for not following our terms. You will not be able to log into this account and no one else will be able to view it he-she.”

The message also included a list of content prohibited on the platform, including “hate speech” and “sexual assault graphic images,” but it made no reference to sexual solicitation.

“We demand Instagram immediately end all discrimination against those involved in the adult industry,” Pornhub wrote. “This means providing full transparency and clear explanations for any suspended or banned accounts, ending shadow ban practices, and immediately returning all accounts, including Pornhub, that have not violated any of Instagram’s terms and policies.”
