We could see the Samsung Galaxy S23 series hit store shelves much earlier than expected, according to sources who speak. ETNews (Opens in a new tab) (Across SamMobile (Opens in a new tab)) has been claimed.
Sources say the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 Ultra could arrive three weeks earlier next year compared to when the Galaxy S22 debuted this year. The Galaxy S22 series was launched on February 9, which will give the S23 on January 19 a reveal of the claim. If the sources instead mean that the retail release date will be three weeks earlier, rather than revealing, we could see the Galaxy S23 range available for purchase from around February 4.
For comparison, the closest phone we’ve seen recently was the Galaxy S21, which arrived on January 14 last year and went on sale on January 29.
According to sources, it is unsurprising that the reason for this accelerated launch window, Samsung’s competitors in the field of premium smartphones. Apple and Samsung are set to dominate the smartphone world until the end of the year, as the iPhone 14 series has just been launched, and we will see the launch of the Google Pixel 7 in just a week, so it seems that Samsung wants to move to its smartphones next-generation phones in As quickly as possible to steal thunder and potential customers.
With that in mind, and how the iPhone 14 Pro appears to come with some teething issues, like how the always-on display can chew up battery life, and some iPhone 14 orders offer some long wait times, there’s an argument for waiting a little bit longer and seeing the wait it can bring. Galaxy S23 to the table.
Speaking of which, we expect the Galaxy S23 series to be one of the first phones to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, which in previous years should have easily outperformed the new Tensor G2 chip in the Pixel 7, and at least some distance away from it. The powerful A16 Bionic in the iPhone 14 Pro, if you don’t match it or eventually beat it.
Overall, rumors seem to say that there won’t be much difference between the Galaxy S22 and the S23. The only upgrade for the Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus may be its chip, according to some sources, while ruling out a possible minor design revision on the edges of the screen. The Galaxy S23 Ultra might get a bit more though, with a new 200MP main camera and an upgraded display that’s said to be on the cards.
