You may now be adapting a successful science fiction movie as Academy Award winning director Danny Boyle matrix On the stage, but not as a game. according to diverseBoyle will direct free your mind, described as a “large-scale immersive performance” that turns Wachowski’s successful feature film into a show featuring “hip-hop choreography for hundreds of dancers”. The event will take place at Factory International in Manchester in October next year. This is the first time the Matrix feature has been adapted into the midst of a live performance.
Described by the show’s official record as “combining the hip-hop choreography of hundreds of dancers with the latest immersive design, ‘Free Your Mind’ will take audiences on an exciting journey through ‘The Matrix’ and into a new world of possibilities…This stunning production will span across ultra-flexible spaces.” in the building, responding to it and tapping into the collective energy of the moment.” Michael Miki Asante will write all-new music for the show which will be organized by Kenrick “H2O” Sandy with playwright Sabrina Mahfouz who will contribute to the screenplay for the show.
