Samsung could soon start selling refurbished versions of its latest and best Galaxy phones, including the powerful Galaxy S22 Ultra.
This is according to the statement the company sent to our colleagues at tech radar (Opens in a new tab), indicating that newer phones will be added to Samsung’s Re-Newed program. Currently, it only sells modern phones like the Galaxy S21 or Galaxy Note 20, in the US and in the UK Re-Newed only offers the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra and Galaxy Note 20, at the time of writing,
However, this could all change soon, and new Galaxy phones could be added to the Re-Newed ranks. And when the Galaxy S23 range arrives, likely early next year, we can even see that listed in Re-Newed.
Why you should consider a refurbished Galaxy phone
Samsung has some of the best phones on the market right now, but the best devices can be quite pricey. So refurbished technology is a great way to cut down on the cost of new hardware, especially Galaxy phones.
Used appliances sold at a discount, with brand-new parts, are profitable for the company, consumers and the climate. Samsung itself estimates that reusing the phone saves 121 pounds of carbon dioxide; The ecological equivalent of two and a half trees per year.
the problem? Most first-party retailers tend to offer only a limited selection of products that are unpopular or outdated in their refurbishment initiatives. Fortunately, it looks like Samsung will deal with this sooner rather than later by adding newer phones to Re-Newed. Hopefully, by keeping the revamping process within the company, some of the most expensive phones on the market can be resold at bargain prices.
But you may ask how does Samsung guarantee that these phones are scratchable?
Well, the Re-Newed scheme sees Samsung’s own experts rebuilding the device with “original parts.” ”
There are third-party equivalents to this initiative, but we say no one knows Samsung phones like Samsung. With a one-year warranty as standard and a much cheaper price than new, if Samsung starts stockpiling some of its newer models, adopting the revamped route seems like an absolute no-brainer, especially in today’s climate with a rising cost of living.
