Nintendo officially releases Nintendo Pictures

Nintendo has officially launched Nintendo Pictures, its wholly owned subsidiary that will focus on developing visual content using Nintendo IP. Nintendo previously announced the acquisition of the animation studio and a plan for its future earlier this year, and it appears that it has now closed.

New Nintendo branch now It has its own company website and the logo as well as some brief information about what Nintendo Pictures are. While the motivation for most people might be the assumption that Nintendo Pictures will work on animation for movies or TV, for example, the company previously offered CG animation for video games as well. In addition, the goal of “visual content development using Nintendo IP” as described at the beginning is very broad.

Dynamo Pictures, as it was previously known, has specifically produced CG animations for such anime Yuri on the ice In addition to the short films of the Pikmin franchise as well as similar films Erwig and the witch. Although it has previously done a little bit of everything for almost everyone, one thing that is certain about the animation studio’s future seems to be for Nintendo properties going forward.

It’s worth noting that Nintendo’s only high-profile animation project, at least for now, is the upcoming Illumination Mario movie. The project’s first real teaser trailer is set to debut during New York Comic Con later this week on October 6. The film features a high-profile voice cast with Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, and more.

As noted above, Dynamo Pictures is now officially Nintendo Pictures. What exactly the new Nintendo subsidiary might be working on isn’t clear, but it certainly looks as if more Nintendo animated projects are on the way. You can check out all of our previous coverage of Nintendo in general here.
