Fortnite down: Epic takes Fortnite offline for update 22.10 – Server downtime table | Games | entertainment

After officially announcing the release date of update 22.10 for Fortnite, Epic Games made the surprising decision to shut down the game early. Fortnite was originally scheduled to shut down at 9am GMT on October 4. But unfortunately, after discovering a problem with the new update, Epic decided to shut down the servers ahead of schedule. This means that Fortnite will most likely remain offline for about 12 hours!

Unless something changes during the night, Fortnite will be offline from now until around 10-11am UK time on Tuesday morning.

Epic hasn’t detailed the issue in the new update, only revealing that it discovered an issue before it was released.

Epic explains: “Due to an issue, we are entering downtime early. Update 22.10 will continue to be released tomorrow October 4th.” “We’ll let you all know when the downtime is over!”

The update should be available for download and installation at 9AM GMT on October 4th, so check back for all the latest leaks and developments.

Anyone trying to log in now will be greeted with the following message: “You don’t have permission to play Fortnite.”

We’d suggest playing something else like Overwatch, but that’s also been offline for a long time, as Blizzard is making the transition to Overwatch 2.

For Fortnite update 22.10, the first major content drop of the season is expected to make some interesting changes.

According to Fortnite insiders like Hypex, update 22.10 will send Boogie Bombs into the vault and out of the game.

With the current season having a Chrome theme, fans can also expect Chrome to expand and change parts of the island.

It’s possible we’ll get some totally new points of interest, as the island changes and evolves over the course of the season.

Elsewhere, there are reports that files will be added for the Fortnitemares Halloween event, and possibly the next Star Wars collaboration.

Judging by the original update 22.10 from the Epic teaser, a new type of chest is expected to debut.

Chests, which are randomly scattered across the map, will contain different types of loot and will be unlocked with keys.

Express Online will have a full list of patch notes when the update ends on October 4.
