October means new movies every week, as the horror industry is all set to take over as audiences want you to be shocked. But this week’s new releases aren’t just like the new Hellraiser. Idris Elba is just trying to protect his family on vacation in Beast on the Peacock, and Mila Kunis’ past is about to reveal her future on Netflix.

But, yes, for your dreaded needs, Hulu has got a new Hellraiser. It looks as bloody and challenging as the original, but maybe not that weird and weird. Will this rethinked Hellraiser work?

Mr. Harrigan’s phone (Netflix)
Ryan Murphy’s latest project on Netflix is an adaptation of the novel of the same name from Stephen King’s If It Bleeds. Co-produced by Murphy, this Blumhouse Productions movie is about an iPhone with a lot of power. Craig (Jaden Martell, who you may remember from the 2017 issue of King’s It) befriends Mr. Harrigan, an old man (Donald Sutherland), and even offers him an early iPhone.
After his friend’s death, Craig has trouble dealing with being violently bullied. So, of course, he began to call Mr. Harrigan’s phone, so that he could speak to him. And when something (or someone) begins to hurt those Craig is frustrated about, he has to wonder if Mr. Harrigan is looking for him.
Watch on Netflix starting Wednesday (October 5).
Eraser: Reborn (HBO Max)
Sometimes, you need to walk away. Or you need to make someone else disappear. In 1996, John Krueger (Arnold Schwarzenegger) was pretty good at this, helping protect high-profile witnesses by essentially concealing them, which he did as US Marshal of the Witness Security Protection Program (WITSEC). Now, in 2022, Eraser: Reborn is rebooting the concept, with a new organization doing the same on Disappearance, and U.S. Marshal Mason Pollard (Dominic Sherwood) is one of the best at the job. But getting Rina Kimura (Jackie Lai), the wife of a gang boss, off the proverbial table, won’t be easy. After escaping to Cape Town, South Africa, Pollard discovers that he has been crossed twice.
Watch on HBO Max starting Wednesday (October 5th)
Prince Andrew: banished (peacock)
Prince Andrew, Duke of York, the subject of shame and scrutiny and a new documentary on peacocks. The film will show how Andrew’s years spent in petty mishaps inflated his opinion of himself, and led to his association with sex traffickers Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Prince Andrew: Banished tells this story through interviews with members of the press, Andrew’s social circle, several insiders, and the team that surfaced allegations against him. While Andrew had a clear position in Queen Elizabeth II’s heart, accusations against him cemented his standing in the conversations of those in power.
Watch on Peacock starting Wednesday (October 5th)
Monster High: The Movie
Monster High fashion dolls come to life, but this is not a toy story.
