Now, the lawyer for one of Dahmer’s victims who survived has spoken about how traumatic his experience with the killer was.
Paul Kinsey is Tracy Edwards, who had escaped from Dahmer’s apartment in 1991. After he escaped, he stopped a patrol car and, with a pair of handcuffs hanging around one of his wrists, told officers he was nearly killed by Dahmer. This led to the investigation that led to Dahmer’s arrest. This was also when Dahmer confessed to killing 17 people. Edwards’ story appears in the first episode of DahmerHowever, Ksicinski explained that Edwards’ life took a turn for the worse after his experience with a serial killer. The lawyer explained to Fox News:
Since he survived this encounter, Edwards has been indicted for several crimes. In 2011, Ksicinski took Edwards as a client, and that was because Edwards was accused of throwing a man off a bridge and killing him. The attorney noted that Edwards was always haunted by what Dahmer had done, and it continues to affect him.
Ksinski noted that Edwards always took responsibility for what he did. He also explained that Edwards didn’t ask for any of this, and it stands to reason that he doesn’t want to remember what happened to him. This traces back to what Rita Espel, the sister of Errol Lindsey, Dahmer’s victim, said. She noted that when she watched the show, it made her feel like relive what happened, and brought back the feelings she felt in those moments. Edwards’ attorney acknowledged how difficult this situation is for those who suffer from it, saying:
