Dallas, Texas (KTRK) – A mother who disappeared two years ago is found dead, leaving her family in desperate need of answers.

This week, investigators in Collin County, near Plano, confirmed that the remains found in February were those of 25-year-old Mercedes Clement.

Investigators said they used dental records to identify her.

On the night of October 11, 2020, Mercedes, then 25, called a few of her friends, and told one of them she was getting scared and needed to get in her car.

The next day, her parents, Alicia and Emiliano Gazzotti, received a letter notifying them that their daughter’s car had been towed.

Clement’s briefcase, found in her car the next day, also raises suspicion.

Surveillance video released last year depicted Clement walking through a Dallas parking lot, accompanied by a man. The man in the video was considered a VIP, but the names of the official suspects have not been revealed.
