“Well, we’re always trying to figure out a way to fit in with Disney World, and I thought Lisa could join their princesses. I thought, ‘You know what would be more fun?'” Did you try to join the villains.” “That’s the origin of this,” Jean explained. “And in fact, when you think about it, in these films, you never remember the name of the prince, but you always remember the name of the villain, and they are more connected to their human ambitions and feelings. And so it was really fun to write these characters and have people sing them, and do the animation, in some cases, with the people who worked on the originals, and that was cool.”
