It looks like someone who was approached by WWE about returning to the company might be heading to AEW instead. New report from Choose a fight WWE sources reveal that they think Renee Paquette may be heading to AEW, and adding some surprising to that is that Give Me Sport’s Louis Dangour has heard that WWE has reached out to Paquette about returning to the company she left in August of 2020. A number of roles during Her time in WWE, including interviewer, commentator, host and more, so there are a number of ways she could help AEW if she were to join the company.
After leaving WWE Paquette, she will begin her podcast The Sessions, and since its launch, has been part of Colin Cowherd’s The Volume Network. She also just announced that she’ll be doing a new show with the NFL’s Cincinnati Bengals called Renee All Day, where she’ll sit down with the Bengals players to talk about what’s happening on and off the field, so even if she does move to AEW, she’ll still seemingly have overseas projects.
Paquette’s last project with WWE before leaving was hosting WWE Backstage, pitching on FS1 alongside Saraya (Paige), Booker T, and simultaneously CM Punk. I also recently worked with WWE in connection with their A&E Network shows.
Buckett is also married to current AEW World Champion Jon Moxley, and he’s not going anywhere, having recently signed a five-year extension with AEW that will see him take over directing duties in addition to his ring work. After her departure from WWE, many thought that she might head to AEW, but that never materialized, although this new report may indicate that may finally change.
WWE has reached out to many former WWE talents since Triple H took over WWE’s creative leadership, and a number of previously released Superstars have returned to the company since SummerSlam. WWE also recently put together their commentary teams for the new seasons of Raw, SmackDown, and NXT, and if Buckett were to return, many would love to see her included in one of those teams, but we’ll have to wait and see what happens.
