Bianca Belair retains her Raw Women’s Championship in a ladder match against Bayley

Bianca Belair retained her Raw Women’s Championship against Bayley on Saturday night in a ladder match at WWE’s Strict rules Pay per view. EST achieved the win by hitting “The Role Model” with KOD on a piece of broken ladder, then went up to regain her title.

The two had been in a feud over the SmackDown Women’s Championship for a few months in 2021, with Belair successfully defending against “The Role Model” at WrestleMania Backlash and inside Hell in a Cell. The two were originally scheduled to meet again in an “I Quit” match at Money in the Bank that year, only for Billy to suffer a ruptured ACL. She finally returned at this year’s SummerSlam to face Belair (now the Raw Women’s Champion) alongside her new faction, Damage CTRL. The group defeated Beliar, Alexa Bliss, and Asuka in the six-women’s tag team match at Clash at the Castle, with Bayely pinning “The EST”.

This group ended up playing a pivotal role in the match. Bayley attempted to use a piece of her knee brace to attack Belair mid-match, only for Belair to hit her KOD. She climbed the ladder to try to snatch the title, only to have Dakota Kai and Io Sky interfere. Belair hit both women with a KOD simultaneously, but gave Bayley enough time to recover.

Bayley appeared to have won the match when she pinned Belair under a ladder as she stepped up to try to snatch the title. But Belair manages to use her impressive strength to push the entire ladder, causing Bayley to crash onto the canvas. This will determine the final sequence and Biller’s win.
