A new time leap reveals another rework of the main characters

In the middle of the first season of Dragon HouseHBO’s Game of thrones The prequel series reinterprets two of its most important characters. The actresses who played Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower were replaced in the series’ sixth episode, which began with a 10-year leap, leading the characters to forcefully reach adulthood. While this was certainly the biggest time jump of the season, Dragon HouseEpisode VIII offers another leap into the future, as some of the other characters get new actors in order to show the passage of time.

The preview for Sunday’s episode, “The Lord of the Tides,” featured older versions of younger characters such as Aemond Targaryen. Given how young the characters are, any leap of time will likely require reworking. However, the opening scene of “Lord of Tides” proves to be a bigger leap than many expected.

The episode begins with Rhaenys Velaryon talking about her husband Corlys Velaryon, who we know had a horrific injury while fighting at the Stepstones. Remember, she hasn’t seen him in six years. If you remember, the characters were together in the seventh episode of the series, meaning that at least six years passed between episodes, although it could always be a little more than that.

It wasn’t as big as the 10-year jump a few episodes ago, but it’s still a long period of time. So significant, in fact, that the children of Rhaenyra and the children of Alicent needed new actors to play them.

Last week’s preview showed our first look at some of these new features Dragon House castings. The one who likely caught the attention of many fans was Aemond Targaryen, the second son of Alicent and Viserys. Aemond builds to be one of the show’s villains, and he plays a major role moving forward. “The Lord of the Tides” sees the role of Aemond going to actor Ewan Mitchell, whom some may recognize from then on. The last kingdom.

Prince Aegon Targaryen is now played by Tom Glenn Carney, Prince Jacaires Villarion is played by Harry Colette and Prince Luceres Villarron is played by Elliot Greholt. The daughters of Daemon and Laena are also recast in Episode VIII. The role of Mrs. Baela Targaryen went to Bethany Antonia and Lady Rhaena Targaryen is played by Phoebe Campbell.
