Xbox Boss raises rumors of a new peripheral

Xbox chief Phil Spencer has finally given fans a first look at the much-rumored new peripherals that are supposed to appear in the near future. Earlier in 2022, rumors and reports started circulating about the Xbox streaming device dubbed “Keystone”. This accessory will allow Xbox gamers to experience games on different screens without the need for a console or mobile device. And while Xbox has yet to officially confirm the existence of the Keystone, Spencer has now showcased the item in a somewhat roundabout way.

In a new image shared on Twitter today, Spencer revealed what appears to be his first look at the upcoming cloud-streaming device. Although Spencer’s respective tweet featuring Keystone was intended to highlight Bethesda’s Fallout series, he shared a photo of his rack featured prominently on a yet-to-be-announced piece of Xbox technology. Based on previous models that have come out, it seems clear that this accessory is the Keystone we’ve been hearing about so often. But Spencer himself did not draw attention to the device, leaving it as an Easter egg for fans to discover for themselves.

It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time ever that Spencer has shown off a new piece of Xbox before a proper reveal. Back in 2020, Spencer hid an Xbox Series S console on a shelf behind him which appeared on several live streams months before the platform was announced. As such, it’s clear that this Keystone teaser was entirely intentional and was meant to get Xbox fans excited about the official reveal of the addon in the future.

Speaking of reveal, though, we don’t know yet when Xbox might choose to give us a deeper look at Keystone. Given that Spencer himself is now showing the item, it seems likely that the reveal will happen sooner rather than later. When this becomes official, we’ll be sure to share more information with you here at ComicBook.com.
