Rick and Morty makes fun of how many Marvel movies there are

Rick and Morty have been exploring a lot of ideas with the first half of Season 6 so far, but the latest episode of the series has taken another shot at the growing Marvel Cinematic Universe of movies and Avengers: Endgame! The series’ sixth season kicked off with a surprise shout-out for Avengers: Endgame and the role of Iron Man in it as Rick pointed out that his and Morty predicament at the premiere looked a lot like Tony Stark early in the movie. But it wasn’t the only reference to Marvel the series made this season.

Rick and Morty He’s been summoning some giant pop culture figures with the first few episodes of Season 6 so far, and that continues into the final episode as the dinosaurs return to Earth and draw attention to how little humankind has evolved on their planet since they left. Millions of years ago. As they question humans about all the new things they’ve created at the time, dinosaurs in particular shine a light on the fact that humans should be making more Marvel movies.

Rick and MortyThe season 6 episode “Juricksic Mort” sees the dinosaurs trying to take over Earth away from humans to figure out why they want to run their planet, and stress that they should make more Marvel movies instead. They ask how many have been made so far (to which the UN replies that there are 29 people with 14 more on the way), and realize that humans “love” to do it and should do more “to finish this ant-man character”.

Funny enough, the boss argues against this by pointing out that if they see Avengers: Endgame, then they’ll know Earth won’t be invaded. It’s not the harshest comment about the Marvel Cinematic Universe that the series has made, but there is a core message about wanting to use this material as an escape rather than trying to fix the Earth and its many problems.
