Rick and Morty have been exploring some weird ideas with every episode of the new season so far, but the most recent episode of the series has put Rick in his weirdest role yet by making him host the Oscars! Season 6 changed the status quo of the series drastically as Rick was no longer able to travel across dimensions with the portal gun, there were more serene adventures focused on Earth. But even so, the series still finds weird new roles for Rick to take on which continues to amaze.
Rick and Morty The latest episode saw the dinosaurs return to Earth and take possession of it instantly as they urge humans to do what they want instead, and the boss goes to Rick and asks him to help him get rid of them. Rick eventually agreed to do so, but in return he wanted to host the Oscars. Surprisingly enough, this happened as fans got to see what it would be like if Rick actually hosted the Oscars and Hollywood’s elite thrills. The movie “Juricksic Mort” sees Rick push the dinosaurs off Earth when he tells them about a type of meteorite that destroyed each of the civilizations they had grown out of space over thousands of years, then hosted the Academy Awards as a result. Here there is a “engraving” of many famous scenes of actors such as Dwayne Johnson, Jason Momoa, Tom Hanks and many others. Rick even had Hanks do one of his famous moments from the classic Cast Away, and it’s clear that Rick was a hit.
But he was soon interrupted when he discovered that dinosaurs had gone to Mars to sacrifice themselves to an incoming meteor. Funny enough, Academy Awards host Rick only offered to comment that it was all written (where he made a point of including “even that one thing”, which probably refers to the Best Big Picture winner who rocked from a few years ago), so I’ve It was just a funny shade in an episode full of them.
