Pokemon Sword and Shield announced a new legendary distribution event

A new distribution event has been announced for Pokemon sword and shield, giving players a chance to acquire three legendary Pokémon: Genesect, Volcanion and Marshadow! The first distribution will be at GameStop locations in the United States and Canada. From October 16 to October 29, Pokemon fans will be able to receive Genesect and Volcanion codes from the video game retailer. The next day, Marshadow will begin distributing at Target Sites in the US, and at GameStop again in Canada. The event starts on October 30th and runs until November 12th.

While these distribution events in theory give fans some time to go to GameStop or Target, the codes have been known to run out in stores earlier than expected. Such was the case for the recent Shiny Eternatus event, where the tokens disappeared very quickly. Some fans have even reported that the tokens have been snatched by sellers to auction them off on eBay. Genesect, Volcanion, and Marshadow probably won’t be researched after Shiny Eternatus, but die-hard Pokemon fans should try to do so sooner rather than later!

All three Pokémon in this Distribution event are Legendary Pokémon; In most cases, Legendary Pokemon can only be obtained through events outside of the game itself. This tradition started with Mew in pokemon red, blue, And the yellowand continued throughout the franchise’s history. There are some exceptions (such as the appearance of Chalabi in Pokemon Crystal), but for the most part, the only way to add these types of Pokemon to it Pokemon sword and shield or Pokemon Home Through these types of events. Since The Pokemon Company tends to hold distribution events sporadically, there’s really no telling when players will get another crack at adding Genesect, Volcanion, and Marshadow to their games once this game is over.
