There is a great deal of controversy over whether Roman Reigns should continue to hold both the WWE Championship and the Universal Championship, and it will only continue each time he retains. The topic isn’t just popping up on social media, as revealed by Daniel Cormier in a new interview with the UFC Hall of Famer The Masked Man Show. Cormier was the special referee for the Extreme Rules for the Fight Pit match, but in the interview, he was asked about Reigns’ current path, and he only had great things to say. He also revealed that during some training with Braun Bricker, Bricker said he never wanted to lose Roman Reigns.
“I was in my locker room last week with Julius Creed, Jay Casper and Braun Breaker,” Cormier said. “They flew. Jay Casper is one of my buddies. He used to train in my camp. When I was there, we spent the whole day. I was with these guys and we got into the ring.”
‘Breaker told me, ‘I hope he (Roman Reigns) never loses. And I hope that when that belt breaks off of him, he walks away from him, like, I don’t need to be the champ anymore, here you go, because his character is over. I don’t want To see that character lose. This is a guy who will challenge that belt at some point. He’s crazy. He tells you what Roman Reigns has become,” Cormier said.
It looks as if Breakker will get his wish for a little longer, as Reigns prepares to face Logan Paul at Crown Jewel. Even though Paul was brilliant in the ring in his limited appearance, no one really expected Reigns to lose any of his titles in that match. After that, it remains to be seen who will ascend to Reigns next, although a certain returning star now in the mix at SmackDown could.
This will be Bray Wyatt, although some aren’t too keen on getting Wyatt and Reigns together soon, especially if it means Wyatt will lose. Others believe Reigns won’t lose until Cody Rhodes returns, while others believe we won’t see any title movement until Reigns finally faces The Rock at WrestleMania, although that hasn’t been confirmed or announced yet.
