Houston, Texas (KTRK) – A woman was shot dead outside her apartment in southeast Houston Friday night, according to police.
Clear Lake police officers responded to a shooting at 10900 Tanner Park Court, south of Almeda Mall, around 11 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers said they found a 51-year-old woman shot outside her balcony.
An eyewitness who tried to help the victim told Eyewitness News that she was shot multiple times in the upper part of her body when he heard her say, “They caught me.”
Investigators at the scene have been collecting evidence for 10 hours, but have released little information.
Neighbors at Almeda Park told ABC13 they were dumbfounded.
“It’s a tragedy,” said the man who tried to save her. “This lady. As everyone says, ‘She doesn’t bother anyone.'” She always comes home from work, and she just takes care of her own business.” “I don’t understand why someone would do this.”
The police did not release a description of the suspects, and no arrests were made.
