Houston Texans rookie safety Jalen Pitre has his jersey retired at alma mater of Stafford High School!

Stafford, Texas (KTRK) – Before Galen Peter was from Houston Texans, he was a Spartan. Peter credits his upbringing at Stafford for his successes both on and off the field. On Friday, the Texas Rising Star #24 safety star retired at Stafford Spartans.

Peter said, “(It) is a great honor. I’m Stafford, and I love this city. I’m grateful for everything they’ve done for me, and I want to keep building that.”

The former Stanford producer has earned several titles such as All-County, All-American 1st Team, Defensive Player of the Year at High School and Baylor University, where he attended college.

“Not only does it mean a lot to me, it means a lot to the city as well. All the work they put in to help me, it really is a special moment.” Peter said.

Although Galen’s work is elusive. It continues to thrive on the field and inspires the Stafford community.

Peter said, “I’m just trying to be a role model. A lot of good talent is coming through Stafford year after year. I’m just trying to be the guy they can look up to.”

Galen’s parents were present at the special occasion. Peter Rick’s father said:

“Jalen inspires other kids. You don’t have to go to 6A school and do well. You can go to ‘little Stafford, the sky is limitless.'” “
