Not necessarily creativity, but “How do you handle studio feedback?” and “How are these calls going?” and “What do you do when you are stressed on that specific part of the budget?” It’s things we usually didn’t need to talk about, but we’re talking now [about]. We find ourselves having these conversations. “What are you doing about getting my three-week precaution?” This kind of thing.
It’s nice to know that the two are still close than ever and can offer each other help whenever needed. Even though the stars (who have worked together for 15 years) are doing new things now, the fact that they can still have these conversations with each other says a lot about their relationship. And as Jensen Ackles later mentioned, he really appreciated their conversations:
It opened up a whole other part of our lives and [the ability] To discuss things – that you think when you are with someone as much as you are with them[‘ve] It covered pretty much all topics. Now we have a whole new set of topics to discuss, talk about and spitball.
Jensen Ackles has directed TV before (and even did an episode of Walker), so he’s no stranger to working behind the camera. However, working as a producer is a little different. There is a lot of logistics that one has to oversee during production, and it’s easy to imagine that such a thing could be confusing for someone just starting out. So it’s not hard to imagine that Ackles’ conversations with Jared Padalecki were invaluable to him.
