Dragon Ball Super Gohan’s colossal statue fell… literally

Dragon Ball Super is one of the biggest anime releases of the year, and the movie makes no apologies for its success. With nearly $100 million at the box office, the feature has become a favorite with audiences around the world. And now, it looks like one of Gohan’s biggest promotions for the movie has died a slow and unhurtful death.

Yes that’s right. Do you remember the statue of Gohan’s oldest life in Hong Kong? The inflatable has fallen, and the photo proof of his death is downright hilarious.

man down! man down!

As you can see above, locals near the statue of Gohan were able to film the spill live. It appears that the Saiyan’s inflating caused a leak at some point either by accident or on purpose. Either way, the leak forced Gohan to air, and all that was left of the hero was a rubber shell.

Images of Gohan’s demise have apparently gone viral, and many are sending tributes to whoever defeated the statue. Cell can’t even destroy Gohan, but a random boulder will likely do the trick. Now, all eyes are on Dragon Ball because it has other rubber items under its thumb. Toei Animation spent a lot of money making a giant Super Saiyan Blue Goku balloon for Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. It would be shocking to see his big promotion shrink, you know?

If you haven’t been able to watch the new Dragon Ball movie, then hopefully, fans will be able to watch it soon. The movie is being shown in select theaters around the world even though the big screen window has run out. In early December, the movie will be released on DVD and Blu-ray in Japan. This will be followed by a local release, and fans hope it will be released this spring at the latest.
