Even while walking on set as a different character, the crew would look at me differently, you know? And I was looking at myself differently in the mirror. So, there is something about internalizing this external perception that changes how you feel about who you are. “I loved it,” Maslani explained. “I wasn’t expecting it at all. When I came off the Disney+ platform, I was blown away. Then this conversation with KEVIN, where she was able to take back her story, refocus herself as a leader in her field of life, and kind of keep it simple and really contained. And that always is. And, for me, the reason I’ve always resisted doing something big with Marvel, “is because I was like, ‘It feels so impersonal, like it’s not about people.'” But that’s what you give her back to, and I just love it.”
