Impact wrestling crowns Heath and the Rhino as the new tag team champions

Tonight’s episode of Impact Wrestling featured a fight for the Impact World Tag Team Championship between Matt Taffin of Honor No More, Mike Bennett and Heath and Rhino, and after a hot ring throw that ended with Maria Kanellis Gored getting Maria Kanellis Gored, Heath and Rhino were also crowned Impact World Tag Team Champions. New Tag! While the kingdom pulled all the stops and did everything it could to gain the advantage and seize the match, Heath and Rhino still found a way to emerge victorious, and you can see the full moment unfold in the post below.

At one point, the rhino had a canalis on the other side of the ropes, but Bennett broke it and caused the rhino to leave. That’s when Kanellis followed them into the ring and grabbed a bag of powder, but when I went to throw it in Rhino’s face, he got out of the way and went to Bennett’s eyes instead.

This allowed Heath to hit Wakeup Call on Bennett, but Taven scored and landed him with a massive kick. He was asking Maria what happened to Bennett when Reno got to his feet and the crowd started chanting blood.

Taffin turned and Rhino stepped forward, but Taffin turned around and pushed him forward, causing him to attack Kanellis instead. Taffin was busy looking at Maria and didn’t see Heath standing on his feet, Heath would hit another wake-up call on Taffin, this would allow him to cover Taffin for the pin and win. Heath and Rhino are the new Impact World Tag Team Champions.

It remains to be seen what happens with Honor No More, but it looks like the band is currently circulating after tonight’s episode. Eddie Edwards revealed that the group was knocking out PCO, but then proceeded to deliver a beating to everyone in the ring and then did it again outside of the ring. Kingdom already debuted in AEW and the new ROH at Rampage last week, and it looks like it’s on a full show there. Additionally, Kenny King is part of the upcoming X-Division tournament, so Edwards appears to be the last major pillar standing at Impact at the moment.
