Some of the people responsible for the story in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II Want to make a game centered around Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley. The character was immediately iconic despite his short-lived presence in the franchise, which is why he’s back. The character is back in post-play multiplayer updates for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare After teasing him in a post-credits scene and now, he’s back in full force with the sequel.
With the campaign now it can be played for those who pre-order Call of Duty: Modern Warfare IIPlayers can easily tell Ghost’s fate entering this year, but regardless of whether he lives or dies, this may not be the end of his story. Talk to IGNInfinity Ward’s narrative director Jeffrey Negus and Modern Warfare II Lead writer Brian Bloom spoke about their aspirations to do a game centered around Ghost. The team is particularly interested in Ghost’s “origin story” and Negus noted that they frequently come up with ideas for new stories related to him.
“There are others who would like to do that as well,” Bloom stated. “And we think that’s going to be really fun. And again, that’s kind of where this interview started, that there’s something special about that character, but the mask and some of the more superficial elements that we’ve tried to build here in our current version, where some of those things came from And exploring that, looking at that would be something that I think the audience would love, and we’d like to get into it.”
As of now, it’s unclear if this will ever happen, but it does seem to be something they’re excited about. Reputable sources reported that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II You’ll be getting story DLC content in 2023, so this is likely a way to tell that story without having to create a new multiplayer mode to go along with it. Either way, it looks like Ghost will be part of the future of Call of Duty.
