Ray Don Chung reveals the details of Episode 4 that surprised her (Exclusive)

This week’s episode of AMC’s Interview with the vampire It was a turning point for Louis de Points du Lac (Jacob Anderson). Not only does the episode see Claudia (Billy Bass) transform into a vampire and join Lois and Lestat (Sam Reed) in their slowly unraveling family dynamic, but Lois is also afflicted by the death of his mother, Florence. Viewers were able to see Florence, played by Ray Don Chung, lying in her coffin in the aftermath of the event, and while the event and her death had consequences for Lewis, according to Chung, there were details about her experience filming the episode that was an episode. A bit of a surprise for her: the casket.

talk with ComicBook.comChung said she was surprised at how uncomfortable the casket in which she had to lie like Florence was because of how the boxes were organized to present the deceased.

“It was surprisingly uncomfortable, and I was only telling someone else because when you die I think they take your guts to puff out your chest,” Chung said. “So, unfortunately, I was in a real coffin and there was a strange bulge in the middle where, in a normal bed, it was more even. This thing had a puffy thing, so my chest was more swollen and I was very uncomfortable for the little bit I was in there. I was surprised how uncomfortable I was at all, and if I had to stay in a coffin longer, I’d order another one because this person had this height in that weird spot on my body. I expected it to be very comfortable and it was the other way around because I’m not dead.”

While Chong’s experience playing Florence in her coffin was personally uncomfortable, in terms of series and characters, Florence’s death will have the final effect on her loved ones, especially Louis. Chung also explained that with Florence’s death, she believes his eternal life will lead him to a different perspective – the idea that while he may have “everything” with the freedom of eternal life, he will eventually end up learning about loneliness and all that he’s lost.

“I think with Louis, now that I’m eternal, I think all things when you have a lot of free time, you’ll come back and lose that tissue, and that he’s always been with me. No matter what was going on, I could hear him, and that’s something,” Chung said. We miss him.” “And I think Rollin [Jones, series showrunner] I’ll be able to show that, and I might be back in a flashback because of that, just to give us a break from the drone of what he always intends to do. You can only kill and bite and kill a lot before you need to get a sense of where we come from. I know that when someone dies, I don’t necessarily feel sad about the fact that they had an obituary. I feel sad that I don’t get it as a reference and broadcaster. There are so many people who have died in my life that I miss, not because I wanted them to live forever, though I did, but because I could no longer use them to think again and ask them questions about life. So, I think Lewis is going to have these moments and I think that’s because of his family, and I think that’s the vampire irony. You learn more about Unity.”

Interview with the vampire It airs on Sundays at 10 / 9c on AMC.
