The Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has deployed Mr. Eskil Makinde as the new Commander of the Lagos State Command.

This was stated by the media official of the new commander, the head of the Supreme Corps, Anri Karim, in a statement made available to reporters on Monday.

Karim said that until his new position, Makindi was responsible for the Edo leadership of the NSCDC.

According to the statement, Mackendi took office on August 24 following an order posted on August 17 from the NSCDC National Headquarters, which was effective immediately.

It also reported that the new Lagos Commander took over from Commander Adinka Ainla, who was also sent to Edo.

“On his arrival, the new commander was greeted by his predecessor in office, Commander Aynala, who advised him to continue his good services in Lagos State,” the statement said.

After the development, Commander McKindy vowed in a statement to justify the trust bestowed in him.

He also thanked the Corps Commander-in-Chief Abdullah Jana for his kind gesture, adding that he would work even harder to bridge the gap between the public and his agency.

McKindy advised members of the command to always be obedient and warned that the leadership would not tolerate any act of corruption and indiscipline on the part of its officers.

NAN reports that prior to the latest appointment, Makindi served as Deputy Head of the NSCDC National Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit, Abuja.

He held the position of Store Officer at National Headquarters and as a one-time Administrative Staff Officer in the Office of the Commander in Chief (CG) in Abuja.

He also served as the Undersecretary of the College of Security Management (CSM) in Abeokuta, Ogun.

He also served as the NSCDC Commander of the Kebbi State Command in 2016 and in 2017 became the Commander of the Edo Command Corps.
