Tyler Lockett was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and attended Booker T Washington High School, where he starred as an athlete in football, basketball, and athletics.
Ultimately, Lockett would focus on his football career despite excelling in basketball and track and field, and would receive a college scholarship to play football at Kansas State.
Lockett will use all four years of his eligibility to play until his senior year at Kansas State. He eventually finished his NCAA career with 249 receptions for 3,710 yards and 29 touchdowns playing as a wide receiver.

Lockett would eventually be selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round, being named 69th overall, during the 2015 NFL Draft.
