WWE reveals US Major Matches, World Cup matches and more for next week’s Raw and SmackDown

This week’s episodes of WWE’s Monday Night Raw and SmackDown are in the books, now interest is moving to next week’s episodes, and WWE has already revealed a preview of what’s in store for both. One of the biggest matches of the week will undoubtedly be US Champion Seth Rollins defending his title against Finn Balor of Judgment Day, which comes after Rollins’ Open Challenge last week. On SmackDown, two more Superstars will move on to the next round of the World Cup Championship, and Honorary Uce himself will return Sami Zayn. Here are all the details (via Wrestling news).

Balor answered Rollins’ open challenge last week, saying he had unfinished business with Rollins, and that feud goes back to Balor’s early days on the main roster. You know the remainder of Doomsday will likely be ringside, and it remains to be seen if the OC will be a factor in this match at all as a result.

WWE has also teased the Miz TV segment from the show, in which Miz will finally address everything going on about his alleged agreement with Dexter Lumis. It was revealed that Lumis and Miz initially had an agreement, but that has since fallen apart and led to a feud.

On the SmackDown side, two more SmackDown World Cup matches will take place next week, and one will see the return of Honorary Uce Sami Zayn from The Bloodline. Zayn will face The Brawling Brutes’ Butch in a first round match, while Raw Superstar Mustafa Ali will face Ricochet in a first round match. This week’s first-round winners are Santos Escobar and Braun Strowman, and they will go on to face the winners in next week’s matches.

Those who tuned in this week watched Schutze win a Six Pack match to become Ronda Rousey’s next contender for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, and she will fight for the title at Survivor Series War Games. Before that match though she will have a chance to get revenge on Shayna Basler, who attacked Schutze last night backstage, and the match is scheduled for next Friday.
