infinite aura
I’ve long enjoyed the Halo games, but after Halo 4 and Halo 5: Guardians, my interest in Master Chief and Cortana’s adventures started to fade. But then, we arrived infinite aura.
The latest Halo entry drops the Master Chief and two situational friends together on another Halo episode. This time, though, large portions of the map are available to handle in your own way. This allows the Chief to capture enemies from afar before approaching him, using a satisfying grappling hook to traverse rocky cliffs. Or, he can attack with a scorpion tank, causing mayhem until the car explodes, then dash into enemies with a thrust beam and an energy sword. When the action subsides, Halo Infinite is bathed in beautiful scenery. There’s also a solid soundtrack to tie everything together. Halo Infinite is the Halo game that Halo fans have been waiting for, and that Xbox Series X deserves. Roland Moore Collier
elden ring
I’ve always respected Soulsborne games more than I enjoyed playing them. but something elden ring It was finally clicked. Within an hour of starting the game, I got hooked, and quickly spent dozens more hours exploring every corner of The Lands Between.
Elden Ring offers the same systematic gameplay as the Dark Souls series that came before it, not to mention a similarly brutal level of challenge. But Elden Ring’s sense of freedom really sets the game apart. If you are stuck in a difficult boss, or feel uneven in one area, you can go explore another to become stronger
The breadcrumbs narrative is a bit vague to me. But other than that, it’s hard to find fault with the Elden Ring. It’s not only my favorite game on Xbox Series X, but one of the best gaming experiences I’ve ever had. – Rory Mellon
Psychology Pioneers 2
When you talk about prolific game designers — people like Shigeru Miyamoto, Richard Garriott, Peter Molyneux, and Hideo Kojima — you have to mention Tim Schafer. In his storied career, Tim has helped write and direct classics like Grim Fandango, Day of the Tentacle, and of course, the original syconauts. 16 years waiting Psychology Pioneers 2 It was painful, but the game eventually became a Game of the Year contender.
What makes the Psychonauts franchise so successful is its good storytelling, likable characters, and the perfect mix of platforms and puzzle solving. You will feel smart every time you find and break one of the game’s secret caches.
Psychonauts 2 is also available on PS4, but Microsoft made the decision to put the game on Xbox Game Pass at launch. This ensured that the sequel did not face the same fate as its cult classic predecessor. Finally, sharing my love for this series with other players in real time, when launching live, will always be a special memory. – Nick Beno
Stranger’s Paradise: The Origin of Final Fantasy
If you can get past his embarrassing title, Stranger’s Paradise: The Origin of Final Fantasy It is one of the most innovative Final Fantasy games in years. At first glance, the game is a re-imagining of the original Final Fantasy on the NES, starring an angry protagonist named Jack, who wishes to kill the evil chaos at any cost. As Stranger of Paradise progresses, though, it draws inspiration from the entire Final Fantasy series, and provides some interesting background to FF1 we didn’t know about before.
The setting and the story are strong in Stranger of Paradise, but so is the gameplay. You can control Jack and two other party members as you explore open dungeons, find more powerful equipment and upgrade a variety of character classes. As you master different chapter combinations, you’ll unlock more powerful options, making each new mission worthwhile. Real-time combat also strikes an acceptable balance between “challenge” and “friendliness”.
To be strictly fair, there’s nothing fundamentally different about Stranger of Paradise on Xbox Series X unlike on PC or PS5. But I played this game on both Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, and the ability to seamlessly sync saved files turned out to be a huge benefit. – Honor Marshall
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 + 2
It seems strange to say that my favorite Xbox Series X game is a Playstation game from 1999, but Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 remaster feels like an entirely new entry in the series.
The soundtrack is a perfect metaphor for this game, as it combines classic punk, ska, and modern performances. In much the same way, the game itself features classic sliders, levels, and tricks, along with guidebooks and wall games that arrived in later installments.
Online play is also a welcome addition to the series. You can play competitive 2-minute sessions, but there is also a better option: a mode where you can relax with friends and have fun. It’s like ice skating in real life, without his knees.
The Xbox Series X upgraded version of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 makes the game as beautiful as it was in my nostalgic childhood memories. You can also share custom levels online, which is great for players who are constantly looking for the next rail to grind. – Andy Sansom
