Even though he’s no longer a late-night TV host, Jay Leno has kept himself pretty busy over the past few years. He has mostly made a number of public appearances that have seen him perform comedy. This past weekend, the 72-year-old star was scheduled to appear at a convention, though event organizers later said via email that he had to pull out due to a “serious medical emergency.” Now, according to a new report, Leno missed the event because he was unfortunately in a car fire and is said to be facing serious injury.
Jay Leno was in his garage, where he stores his huge collection of vehicles, last Sunday when suddenly one of the cars caught fire. according to TMZUnfortunately, the fire burned the left side of the TV personality’s face. One site source said, however, that the flames did not reach Leno’s eye or ear. The Tonight Show veteran was reportedly later transferred to the Grossman Burn Center, where he is said to be staying, as of this writing. His status is currently unknown.
This past weekend, the comedy veteran was scheduled to appear at the 2022 Financial Branding Forum in Las Vegas on Sunday. After he didn’t show up, the organizers sent an email (which he got People), where they detailed what they knew about the situation. At the time, they were just saying that the Emmy winner had suffered a “serious medical emergency”:
Jay Leno will reportedly be taking it easy for the next several days, as he is said to have canceled his public engagements for the rest of the week. One can only hope that Leno is not in too much pain and that he has a very fast and comfortable recovery.
