But if Apple needs a little inspiration, the phone replacement shop is here SellCell (Opens in a new tab) He has some valuable information with the iPhone 15 features that fans have been coveting.
The site asked 2,560 American iPhone owners what theoretical features they’d be most excited about in the iPhone 15, allowing participants to choose up to three answers. While some were undoubtedly more likely than others, the answers provide interesting insights into what the average iPhone shopper is looking for, rather than the hardcore tech enthusiast who reads sites like this.
As such, cosmetic changes come out on top, with a vague hope of opting for a “fresher look and design over previous models” by 35.2% of respondents. A similarly high selection was from 30.3% of buyers hoping for “new colors in the range” which shows how important aesthetics are.
In third place: “Complete accessories and charger return” which is interesting since the survey was specifically targeted to those who own an iPhone, and therefore already own a charger.
28.8% of people who choose this option will almost certainly be disappointed, as well as 8.5% wanting an iPhone 15 mini and 13.8% hoping for a foldable phone in the mix. The imminent arrival of USB-C on iPhones is welcomed by 20.3% of respondents, while the prospect of Dynamic Island arriving on cheaper iPhones is appreciated by 11.7% of fans. None of these things will be as common as Touch ID making a return in some form, which is possible, albeit likely to be under the screen rather than inside the home button. Sorry Chris Evans – who said he’s going to miss the good old Home button on his iPhone 6s.
Elsewhere, Sellcell asked respondents’ opinions about the struggling iPhone 14 Plus. While 20.4% of those surveyed had one, the remainder discounted it due to its high price (22.5%), being too large (12.1%) or having a poor feature set compared to the Pro models (7.8%). Interestingly, 6.6% stated that they would have preferred the iPhone 14 mini instead.
