If you’re still contemplating how it all ended, here’s what you need to know about the finale of one of the hottest dramas on TV!
How Dead To Me Season 3 is over
As expected, best friends Jen and Judy went through a huge amount of trouble to get to the end of their story. After coming out of Season 2 essentially ending in a car accident, they soon run into new problems, when Jodi is diagnosed with stage 4 cervical cancer and Jane realizes she’s pregnant with Ben’s child. Jane helped her boyfriend through three Tough months from chemo, but the treatment didn’t help, and Judy’s condition was eventually described as terminal.
Meanwhile, with Steve’s newly buried body found on federal land, FBI agent Glenn Moranis was now investigatingAnd Jin was getting closer than ever to revealing that he was his killer. Judy, knowing she already has a death sentence, confesses to killing Steve just as Jane finds a way to get her into a clinical trial in San Francisco that could have extended her life.
After they fought over Jodi’s right to end her life at will, that was it I decided to mom Judy She will don the ankle monitor that Jody was given by Officer Prager and drive to San Francisco to cover the fact that Jody and Jane have already run away to Mexico for one last vacation. While there, the ladies say goodbye to each other, and a call from Ben, who was in jail for hitting and running at them at the end of the previous season, reveals that the FBI was now assuming that the Greek syndicate Steve was involved with was responsible for his murder, meaning that Gene was Elusive.
Towards the end of their trip, Jane wakes up to find Judy gone, apparently taking the small boat behind Steve’s vacation home far out into the ocean so that she will die there alone. Jane is back home, has her baby, and is living happily with Ben – who is released on good behavior within a few months – and the kids when the final moments of the series see her look back on her friendship with Judy, and, it seems, decide to confess to Ben that she was actually the one who killed his brother and buried him in the national forest. But we did not hear her confession to him.
Why did Jane’s story end the way it did
Jane’s story ended in many shocking ways. Not only was she found out she was pregnant at 47, but she was cleared of the accidental murder that she spent so much time hiding throughout the series. Obviously, with her good friend Jodi still grieving over her inability to carry a child to term, and dealing with her eventual cancer diagnosis, too, Jen hid her pregnancy for as long as possible. Liz Feldman talked about Jane becoming pregnant Eagle On how he made this decision, he said:
Jodi then had to deal with being happy for her friend, while completely coming to terms with the idea of her death quickly approaching, knowing that it would mean there would be no sudden miracles regarding her finally having the baby she wanted so bad. In the Vulture interview, Feldman also noted that Jen leaving the hook to kill Steve was due to the true nature of the series, with the importance of dead to me Dealing with loss, the grief and anger caused by it, and how friendship is affected by these things more than dealing with “crime and punishment”.
Why did Judy’s story end the way it did
There were many tears when Gene and Judy saw the latter’s final days draw near, even as they enjoyed their three-week vacation in Mexico. However, I doubt anyone expected the duo to watch it The facts of life For the last time, and for Jane to wake up and simply find that Judy is gone, so she can’t convince her to come home with her and then have to watch her friend die.
In fact, we don’t know for sure that Jodi died when Jane left Mexico in the rebuilt car that Steve and Jodi originally killed, because we don’t see the sanguine woman die or even hear anything about her funeral. In an interview with Vulture, Feldman and her team made this choice on purpose, to mimic how real sudden loss can feel, and how it can feel like someone who has died “just took off.”
Why Dead To Me Ends On A Cliffhanger
Fans got many answers in the series finale, but we were presented with another shocking ending as well, when it appeared that Jen was going to finally reveal the truth about Steve’s death to his brother/father of her new baby/boyfriend, Ben. Before she disappeared, Jodi tried to convince her to tell him everything, so that their relationship could be without a big secret (as he did). He admitted to causing the hit and run), but Jane was adamant that she did not believe death and all the lies that surrounded it could ever forgive her.
As Feldman told Vulture, not only did Jen’s appearance on the verge of a confession properly tie the show in with its many surprising twists and turns, but to show how when you lose a loved one “you carry it with you.” So, Jen contemplating a confession that could easily end their relationship. The romance with Ben, however, is proof that some of Judy’s hopeful, trusting spirit has found its way into Jane’s heart.
In my opinion, Gene does the right thing and tells Ben all about Steve, and although it takes him a long time to accept what she did, his understanding of how awful his brother is and how good people (also like him and Judy) can do bad things would be enough In the end to forgive her and they have to make their way back to each other.
