Spoilers ahead love is blind Season 3, now streaming with a Netflix subscription.
love is blind Fans, we went through the musical Season 3 with these five couples. There were a lot of ups and downs as always, I don’t know about you, but this season felt especially cool, when Dating show on netflix She used to be injected with a lot of romance. Come on, love is blindTake us away! make us Feel Blind love, you know? As a fan of the series, I have a few ideas on how to go about it love is blind Season 4 could bring her back.
Before we get into it, I should note that, apparently, Season 4 and Season 5 have already been filmed, per Nick Lachey’s interview with Women’s health. So while my feedback may not get to them in time, here’s what I think the show could use to improve the romance factor for couples and viewers. After all, even though it’s a dating show known for its drama, I think for people to keep watching, part of us needs to believe that love can be blind.
Throw in older, more emotionally mature people
I know I’m not the only one wishing for stars love is blind They were older. While I fully respect people in their 20s who find their person earlier in life, the average age at which men and women get married is getting bigger every year, with recent numbers around 31 for men and 29 for women, per Statista. With this data in mind, there is road Too many 25-year-olds in this series. And in season three in particular, Zanab/Cole and Nancy/Bartise were a dynamic duo with women in their early 30s and with men in their mid-20s. Neither of these two couples worked out well, with too much drama to write home about, and both men revealed that they probably need more time to grow up before committing to blind love.
Thus, I hope we see the show try the next experiment in general with older, more experienced, emotionally mature cast members who are in the age range of Americans getting married nowadays. I really want to see more people fall in love with the show and have meaningful relationships, and some of the casting decisions dwarf that. Of course, a lot of people will only sign up for their love lives to be public knowledge, so it might not be the fault of the Netflix show either.
Give us the backgrounds!
Another hole I’m going to poke in this very popular show is how he treats his team members as a whole. This season, I’ve really noticed that the producers pick one or two personality traits on each character and double-down on them before we really understand who they are, which can contribute to the series coming across as kind of fake. SK is a good example of this. On the one hand, the show did a fairly good job of highlighting the importance of Nigerian culture to him, right down to his decision on the wedding. But, on the other hand, SK’s plans for the school were randomly mentioned at one point and it totally put me off.
I feel like it would be fun to see each person in a five minute segment regarding their lives before this dating experience begins to find out who they are and give audiences more insight into their lives in that regard. Give us backgrounds!
Gentle re-dates
as such love is blind As a series, it has become more focused on dramatic moments and high tensions between couples than anything else. Yes, we’re here for all of it, but in season 3 especially, the dating show seemed to downplay the couples’ bonding moments. There is a loss of balance between the two. Even on the recess that happens right after all of their engagements, I felt like it was all about the ex-drama, and the cute dates that were set up were glazed over to other business orders.
Since there are no small moments between them that allow us, as an audience, to be truly invested in their love stories, it has instead been constant bickering and conflict between most of them. Not only would more cute dates bring back the spark in the series, but more involved dates could also strengthen their partnerships, and allow us to believe in them more. In the last season, I didn’t root for anyone, because I didn’t feel true love among many couples.
Get engaged to Nick and Vanessa Lachey
Finally, I’d love to see more of Nick and Vanessa Lachey on the show. They are technically the hosts of the series and the faces of the show, however they rarely hang out with the couples anymore unless it’s a reunion. I think a lot of them could benefit from a third party like the Lacheys to help them talk through their struggles and work things out on and off throughout the season. They could have done a group check-in in the middle of the experiment to provide their thoughts on how the relationships are progressing, rather than their participation So Hands off.
or, like Married at first sight No, the chain can hire counselors to work with engaged couples when problems arise. Much of what happens during the show can be illustrated by the couple’s advice, especially with a view love is blind It is moving through a huge life event like engagement and marriage so quickly. It would be a great way to promote the benefits of individual or marriage counseling in this way.
After the events of Season 3, we know That’s where the couples ended up After their meeting in pods about a year and a half ago. Two of them are still married, one unmarried has rekindled their romance, while the other two have broken up completely. We will expect after the altar Episodes and season 4 and 5. Woe love is blind Re-romantic at that time?
