Five years have passed since Henry Cavill last appeared as Superman Justice League, the hero’s future in the DC Universe was a giant question mark rather than a symbol of hope. But all of that, fortunately, changed during Black AdamEnd credit scenewhen Cavill returned to the big screen to the classic fanfare of the Superman theme. It seems we have more Man of Steel to thank Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who just spoke in more depth about his fight to bring back the character.

If we want to establish Black Adam as the most powerful unstoppable force in the DC Universe, then we have to bring back the most powerful unstoppable force of all time, in any universe. And you know who I’m talking about, of course. This is Superman, and this is Henry Cavill. At the end of the day, the studio wasn’t bringing back Henry Cavill. For an incomprehensible and unjustified reason. But we will not deal with any answer. Myself, Seven Bucks Co-Founder and President Danny Garcia, and Seven Bucks President Hiram Garcia. These have been years in the making regarding bringing Henry Cavill back, and years of strategic talks. We wouldn’t take “no” for an answer.
In a video posted by Dwayne Johnson on Twitter On his way to work, he shared some behind-the-scenes info regarding what happened on Henry Cavill’s official return to him DC Movies. He completed:
For us, there was no logical, viable way to try to build the DC Universe with the most powerful and greatest superhero of all time sitting on the sidelines. It is impossible to do this. You can draw a Venn diagram for business 90 different times, but it all comes down to: “Where’s Superman?” You must have Superman in the mix. That’s why we fought so hard to bring back Superman [with] Henry Cavill. And another Superman, by the way, wasn’t going to bring him back. Henry Cavill is the Superman of our generation. And, in my opinion, the greatest Superman. And I mean that with respect to the other cast, especially Christopher Reeve.
Here you are. The Rock knew Henry Cavill was the best Superman, and he did everything he could to make the reserved and busy actor fit in as a backup. Cavill’s Kal-El does not appear until after Black Adam Credits roll. He appears from a wall of smoke as he tells The Rock’s DC character “They have to talk”. After the reveal hit theaters, Cavill took to social media to say the moment It was just a ‘little taste of what’s to come.”
Now, no specific plans have been announced regarding a bigger Superman return. Rumor has it that producer Chuck Roven is “currently seeking pitches” from writers for a Superman sequel. Recently, Warner Bros. With so many changes behind the scenes, Discovery Communications struck a $43 billion deal with parent company AT&T to buy it.

Besides Henry Cavill’s return to the DC Universe, the actor will be returning for the magician and star in a spy movie, Argyle next year, while The Rock next is a holiday movie with Chris Evans, coming out in 2023 as well.
