Now, a new theory has me super invested in what’s going on with Jennifer Coolidge’s Tanya McQuaid and Quentin’s Tom Hollander. Unfortunately, this theory could mean bad things for Tanya are on the horizon, provided it ends.

The gist is that she is suggesting that Quentin is not the friendly gay guy Tanya met while on vacation. This theory suggests that Quentin, Jack, and possibly others in his group were intentionally hired to kill Tanya. Here’s the kicker: The person responsible for this plot is Tanya’s husband Gregg, and after hearing the evidence supporting it, I think it might be legit.
The video notes that in Episode 2, Tanya says it was Greg’s idea for them to take a vacation to Sicily after he told her he had to go home. Greg mentioned during that conversation that because of their prenuptial agreement, he couldn’t stay in Sicily and had to go home to keep his job just in case he didn’t work out. Later, Tanya overhears Greg having a private conversation, which appears to be covering up an affair with another woman in the States.
This theory suggests that Greg was actually talking to Quentin, and that they’re in cahoots in a plot to kill Tanya so Greg can inherit her fortune, though I wonder how that’s possible with a prenuptial agreement unless Tanya ruins it like she offered him before he left. She also claims that Greg is an “American cowboy” Quentin told Tanya that he fell in love with her a long time ago when he was living in America and that it didn’t work out because that cowboy was heterosexual. Quentin then added that he would still do anything for that cowboy to this day, which seems like a huge sign in my eyes that this theory might be true.
If Greg arranged for Quentin to kill Tanya, it would certainly help explain why Greg was so upset that Tanya’s assistant Portia came on vacation with her without his knowledge. Adding Portia to the mix will make it harder to get Tanya on her own, and may mean that Quentin will have to arrange for Portia to go away as well.
Perhaps that’s why Jack is involved, since the last episode made it seem like he wasn’t actually Quentin’s nephew. I mean, if it was, the explicit sex scene between them would make this a very twisted situation, even though it wouldn’t be The first HBO show to highlight incest.
If this theory is correct, then it’s possible that Jack was a last-minute addition to the plan to occupy Portia once Greg saw that she was also present. We’ll just have to wait and see, hopefully Tanya isn’t one of those dead bodies in the water! This theory will make waiting for the new episode up to me HBO Max subscription Unbearably beautiful.
