If you happen to get stuck symbol picture When it was re-released in theaters earlier this year, you might have forgotten that main villain Colonel Miles Quaritch, played by Stephen Lang, didn’t make it out of the final battle alive. Maybe you weren’t expecting it because you haven’t seen a James Cameron movie in a while, or because you already know Lang is reprising his role in the upcoming Avatar sequel, including this month’s movie. Avatar: Water Road. Speaking in a new interview with empireLang opened up about his character’s return, confirming exactly how it happens and revealing who the true villain of Avatar: The Way of Water is.
“He’s a genetically independent avatar,” Lang says of his character, explaining that he’s the “Recominant” or “Recom” in the movie. “He’s downloaded with reason, and emotions, and most interestingly, perhaps the spirit of Quaritch. Now, those are all esoteric things. He comes with a full memory bank up until the time he actually undergoes a DNA transfusion. There are certain things he doesn’t remember at all. Neither He remembers his death.
Adds Lang, “It’s fair to say (it’s the same as Quaritch), but I think it’s incomplete. If you think about it, in the original movie, Quaritch was really a job. It was a colorful job—a job full of personality, but he was really there to provide the conflict.” Now, he still has that job but I also think, just because of the depths of what Jim’s exploring here, he’s a little more so. We’re seeing parts of him that I haven’t seen yet. It only makes sense because we don’t want to be massaging the same area over and over again. We need to Going to new places and he really does.”
Lang went on to say that newcomer Eddie Falco will apparently be the main antagonist of the new film, as he plays a character named “Ardmore” who is actually more than his own. He notes, “It seems to me he’s really trying his hardest to make it work for Ardmore, but we’ll just have to see how that works out. Back in the day, Quaritch was the right-angle, straight-line guy in a very fluid, round world. Now it’s Ardmore who lives in This dogmatic book, and sometimes you have to throw the book out the window.”
Avatar: Water Road It is scheduled to arrive on December 16, 2022, with Avatar 3 It is set to debut two years later on December 20, 2024.
