Who would have known that when Jennifer Lopez launched her career as Fly Girl in the 1991 comedy show in living colourWill you become a global star? Since being on the show, Lopez has become one of the most successful and internationally recognized singers and actresses. With multiple hit songs and starring roles in movies, JLo’s movies have become massive box office hits while winning fan devotion and acclaim. So, if the actress and singer has anything to do with it, which movie of her iconic movie would she make a sequel to? Well, the answer might shock you.
JLo recently appeared on Vogue 73 Questions from a series of videos, in which she was asked which of her films the star would like to make a sequel to. With the teapot in hand, the star didn’t miss a bit, as she replied with a resounding voice Gigli. This answer will no doubt leave some longtime fans from 2003 scratching their heads Comedy romantic movie It was critically panned upon its release – and CinemaBlend didn’t rate it highly either.
Gigli It stars Ben Affleck, who plays a mafia hitman who is ordered to kidnap the brother of a mentally retarded federal prosecutor. Jennifer Lopez plays Ricky, a tough and unavailable woman who is sent by the titular character’s boss with orders to assist in the kidnapping. However, things get serious for the two of them when they start falling for each other. The premise is outdated, and the execution somewhat problematic, to say the least. Honestly, it’s not hard to understand why it didn’t hit the critics and moviegoers at the time.
This revelation is a bit shocking for several reasons. In the years since its release, the film has gained a reputation as one of the worst films ever made. It just so happens to be one of the most expensive box office bombs in history, making just $7.2 million on a budget of $75.6 million. To this day, it is also the latest film directed by Martin Brest.
Much of the media coverage surrounding the romantic comedy crime film at the time centered around the film’s real-life romantic relationship. I can still hear all the bad jokes about the situation. Although the couple separated in 2004, Benifer reconciled, sending the Internet into an uproar. Perhaps the couple’s reunion and subsequent marriage (which Lopez’s mother was elated about) is why the star is set to make a follow-up to their decades-long bombshell romance. If I’m being honest with myself, I’d much rather see a sequel directed by Tarsem Singh Experimental flick cellIt is, in my opinion, one of the best horror movies out there. But maybe that’s just me.
In recent years, JLo has started to be taken seriously about her acting career. She has received several award nominations (F Painful disdain for Oscar) for her work in scammers. Perhaps an Academy Award is in the dancer-turned-actress’s future if a suitable writer-director is attached to it Gigli sequel project.
